Dozens of heartfelt messages of thanks hand drawn by Willingdon Elementary school children were delivered to the JGH Environmental Services team—staff members belonging both to the day and night shifts—by our CIUSSS’s Employee Engagement and Recognition Program.
Part of an ongoing Humanization of Care Committee initiative, the staff appreciation gesture is carried out on different occasions throughout the year, for different groups at the hospital. Previously, JGH nurses and PABs were the recipients of well-wishes.
Teachers want their students to realize that there are many teams in health care who contribute meaningfully in a hospital setting. The JGH Housekeeping staff:
- Is comprised of over 150 full-time employees, composed equally of men and women
- Work around the clock to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- Are found throughout the hospital, from patient rooms to public spaces, the Emergency Department, clinics, operating rooms and laboratories
- Collaborate closely with the C4 Command Centre to support patient flow, ensuring the hospital operates smoothly 24/7. Using cutting-edge machinery and advanced technology, they maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
