Congratulations to Kathy Malas, who assumed the role of Director of Quality, Innovation and Value on June 18. She will also serve as Director of OROT, the Connected Health Innovation Hub, and as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer. These interconnected roles reflect a commitment to advancing user-centred care through continuous improvement, innovation, and the integration of AI.
Ms. Malas brings extensive experience from the CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest and the CHUM, where she led innovation and AI initiatives and taught as an associate professor at HEC Montréal. Her leadership will support the CIUSSS’s “Care Everywhere” philosophy—delivering the right care, at the right time, in the most appropriate setting.
Her career began in speech therapy at Sainte-Justine Hospital and evolved into leadership roles in innovation. She has co-developed and implemented impactful projects, including an oral immunotherapy clinic and the CardioF centre for women’s cardiovascular health.
Ms. Malas’s collaborative approach and expertise in care, research and innovation will be key to enhancing quality and fostering creative thinking across the CIUSSS.
