The JGH welcomed clinical leaders, researchers and innovators from across Canada and beyond in May for three days of rich discussion on the future of Hospital at Home.

Building on the momentum of our own Hospital@Home program—now a cornerstone of virtual care across the CIUSSS—the Canadian Hospital at Home Conference explored how this model continues to evolve through research, clinical innovation and cross-sector collaboration.

The conference concluded with a keynote by Dr. Robert Thirsk, Canadian astronaut and physician, who drew parallels between delivering care in space and in the home. He highlighted the importance of remote monitoring, clinical decision-making in resource-constrained environments, and coordinated, interdisciplinary care across distances.

Hosting this national event reflects the leadership of our CIUSSS and the JGH in advancing innovative models of care, while strengthening partnerships with healthcare institutions, government and community organizations across North America.
