On November 17, The Auxiliary of the Jewish General Hospital celebrated World Prematurity Day, recognizing the dedication of the healthcare professionals of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Parents of premature babies shared their emotional journeys. One couple recounted their baby’s birth at just 30 weeks, weighing only 1 kg, while another mother shared touching memories, including her baby’s first tiny clothes.

Dr. Lajos Kovacs praised the Auxiliary for their vital support, which enables innovation and provides critical equipment for the NICU, making a lasting impact on our smallest patients.

The Tiny Miracle Fund, an initiative of The JGH Auxiliary, played an important for making all this happen since 2013 by providing essential, life-sustaining equipment for our tiniest and most vulnerable patients in the NICU, while offering unwavering support to their families.
