An array of events was held the week of October 2 to 6 to raise awareness about National Breastfeeding Week.
Our CIUSSS was buzzing with activity, with events at various locations including the Jewish General Hospital, all of our CLSCs, and the Côte-des-Neiges Birthing Centre. Nursing teams from across the CIUSSS were enthusiastic about sharing past and ongoing initiatives.
Our CIUSSS is on a mission to achieve certification as a Baby-Friendly Initiative (BFI) facility by 2024. BFI is a globally recognized, evidence-based strategy for providing top-quality care and services, endorsed and launched by the World Health Organization and UNICEF, to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding.
