The Saint Margaret Day Centre hosted its first Wacky Olympics in July, a fun way to help day centre clients with their focus, teamwork and motor skills.

Educators Amanda Mirarchi and Elizabeth Mourelatos organized events such as Hockey Pandemonium, with competitors using pool noodles to score goals; Stack ’em Up, with teams of two building pyramids out of cups; and the Dress the Staff relay race, with participants racing to pass along clothing items and dress a staff member standing at the finish line—including a final touch of lipstick.

The day was capped off with a closing ceremony, during which participants were awarded gold and silver medals. There are plans to make this an annual event. Congratulations to the staff and clients at Saint Margaret Day Centre for a successful inaugural Wacky Olympics!
