Practice Makes Perfect

untitledOn October 13, the Division of Quality, Evaluation, Performance, Ethics and Archives (DQEPEA) organized a simulation visit in order to prepare for the accreditation visit starting on December 4 until December 9. There were 42 staff engaged staff members who registered for the activity and got to play the part of a surveyor.

The day started at 11:00 a.m. where all participants went through coaching and training for the day ahead. Once everyone was placed in teams of 2, they were off to 15 sites across the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal. There were seven CHSLDs, five service and home care facilities, various mental healthcare departments and community healthcare departments that obtained a visit. Each visit was an opportunity for the participants to exchange their knowledge and experience in different environment since no one went to a site they were assigned to.

The aim of the game was to prepare the teams for the real thing in December. Although the ‘visits’ weren’t really official, they were a excellent opportunity for teams to learn their strength and weaknesses.

The simulation was such a success that participants hope to do it again next year! The synergy between participants and departments showcased their commitment to each other and the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal.

The DQEPEA would like to thank and congratulate the organizers, day visitors and the participating teams for a successful day! A big congratulations to Debbie Tonge from Jewish Eldercare for winning the spa day draw gift!
