Archie Deskin, who was instrumental in guiding the Jewish General Hospital into the modern era as Executive Director from 1975 to 1991, has passed away at the age of 95. Mr. Deskin also distinguished himself as President of Maimonides Geriatric Centre from 2003 to 2006. Mr. Deskin’s term at the JGH was marked by dramatic growth and expansion, including the launch of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, creation of the Division of Geriatric Medicine, the founding of Hope & Cope, the opening of Pavilion E, and the designation of the JGH as a McGill University teaching hospital.
