Did you know that our CIUSSS is considered a Canadian and international leader in caregiving? The Plan d’action gouvernemental pour les personnes proches aidantes 2021-2026 has designated our CIUSSS and the Academic Affairs and Research Ethics team to carry out four new measures to develop and share knowledge and best practices that support caregivers. They also aim to inform, educate and support those who support caregivers.
The four measures are:
- A provincial coordinator specializing in caregivers for people from ethnocultural and English-speaking communities
- Development of a provincial caregivers training program for stakeholders, professionals and managers of the RSSS and the community
- Development of a body of knowledge about the realities and specific needs of caregivers from ethnocultural and English-speaking communities
- Development and administrative organization of the Observatoire québécois de la proche aidance
The Observatoire québécois de la proche aidance offers relevant, reliable and objective information on the subject. A range of knowledge and publications, produced by the Observatoire and its collaborators, will be accessible to promote recognition for caregivers, to stimulate action, to enlighten decision-making and to nourish research.
