Kudos to the team! After its first year in operation, the Quebec Screening Program for Hearing Loss in Newborns succeeded in screening 3,464 babies at the Jewish General Hospital and the Côte-des-Neiges Birthing Centre.
The program, whose goal is to detect hearing loss as soon as possible after birth to facilitate early intervention, has achieved a remarkable participation rate of 99.5 per cent. Gina Mills, Assistant to the Director of Rehabilitation and Multidisciplinary Services, congratulated the program’s team members. “We would like to acknowledge your rigorous work – your efforts have contributed to an excellent result!”
The one-year anniversary in December was cause for celebration among staff, including Vasthie Pierre-Louis (left in photo), Head Nurse of the Postpartum Unit, and Marta Guekozian, Nurse Clinician in the Postpartum Unit. Well done!
