Congratulations to the teams in the Clinical Access Service and the Lung Cancer Investigation Clinic at the JGH! On October 13, they presented a case study on their collaboration at the annual conference of the Lung Cancer Network of the McGill University Health Centre.
Thanks to this partnership, patients referred by doctors for lung nodules to both clinics receive rapid access to prescribed care and services. This significantly reduces treatment delays and provides the best care, in the best place, at the best time, by the right healthcare professionals.
“Kudos to our amazing teams for their invaluable contribution into making our hospital and CIUSSS a centre of expertise,” says Dr. Jason Agulnik, Chief of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine. “Their dedication and expertise have been instrumental in driving positive change and delivering exceptional care for our patients.”
Nurses who presented at the conference say the collaboration improved patient care by bringing together expertise and improving the care trajectory. “It has also enabled us to optimize our resources,” says Jessica Pinto, Head Nurse in the Clinical Access Service and the Medical Day Hospital.
Vanessa Lewis and Gabrielle Chartier, Nurse Consultants in the Lung Cancer Investigation Clinic, add: “By leveraging on everyone’s strengths and experiences, we have given ourselves the means to improve processes, face challenges and improve our results.”
