Drink water and cheers to your health!

There is nothing like a good, cold glass of fresh water! Drinking water is a calorie-free way to stay hydrated and healthy. Because our bodies lose water by sweating, breathing and getting rid of waste, it needs to be replaced to avoid dehydration. Canada’s Food Guide suggests drinking eight glasses of water or more daily, especially in hot weather.
Drinking plenty of water will:

• maintain your body temperature
• help break down ingested food so that your body can absorb more nutrients
• assist in eliminating waste and regulating bowel movements
It can be difficult to remember to drink sufficient amounts of water, but by making it your drink of choice with meals and carrying a water bottle with you as much as possible, you are sure to increase your daily intake. Try it for yourself!
