Congratulations to Dr. Paul Warshawsky on his appointment as our CIUSSS’s Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). Dr. Warshawsky will ensure that physicians and clinicians throughout the CIUSSS are informed about and participate in the strategic planning for large-scale digital initiatives, such as the Connected Health Record, virtual care services and the Command Centre. He will also work closely with the Digital Health and IT Departments to ensure that everyone is “on the same page”.

Dr. Warshawsky has been Chief of Adult Critical Care at the Jewish General Hospital since 2009, and he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Critical Care Medicine and in the Department of Medicine at McGill University. He will continue in these roles, in addition to his new position as CMIO. He also has a strong interest in the quality of care and he has served as a Medical Examiner for the CIUSSS.

Dr. Warshawsky completed his residency in internal medicine at McGill, followed by training in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Afterward, he completed a fellowship at Loyola University Chicago, where he conducted research into breathing control and mechanical ventilation.
