Summertime fun! For the second year in a row, children who live with hearing impairments got to experience the pleasures and benefits of day camp, thanks to the dedicated staff at the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre.

From organized sports to music therapy, cooking and painting to reading time, children participated in a range of activities while also benefitting from individual and group therapy led by the rehabilitation professionals of CIUSSS West-Central Montreal.

“The kids had an opportunity to access the fun of a summer camp experience that’s also adapted to their language and listening needs,” says Mary-Jane Blais, Clinical Coordinator for the Hearing and Vision Program – Children and Youth.

Thank you to Special Care Counselor Enza Stabile; Speech-Language Pathologists Melissa Trueman and Julia Kim; Occupational Therapist Stephanie Rishikof; Music Therapist Tiana Malone; and Audiology Intern Tinna Nguon. They were supported by a team of audiologists who provided assistance with equipment and also led some activities. The camp at the MAB site welcomed children aged 5 to 7 during the week of July 31.
