It’s not every day that celebrities join forces with directors from our CIUSSS to extend a message of thanks to staff. But then, this is no ordinary year.

To mark the end of 2020, Montreal personalities and senior managers from CIUSSS West-Central Montreal have come together to express appreciation to the employees of our healthcare network. In a special video tribute live-streamed on Dec. 18, stars such as comedian Sugar Sammy, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry and actor Jay Baruchel offer personal messages of thanks for the sacrifices made by staff as they battled COVID-19 this year. Songstress Martha Wainwright performs a musical tribute.

“Everything that all of you do every single day is vital, necessary—and very, very sincerely appreciated,” Mr. Baruchel says. “This year has been very challenging for everyone, and we appreciate everything you have done to keep us all safe.”

Senior managers, including President and CEO Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg, Associate CEO Francine Dupuis and President of the Board of Directors Alan Maislin, also reflect on what they’ve experienced this year while looking ahead to brighter days.

The video, produced by Communications Specialist Shaun McMahon and Videographer Julien Lombard of the Communications team of our CIUSSS, is meant to highlight the work of countless employees who went to great lengths to battle the pandemic. The tribute is available on our CIUSSS’s social media platforms.
