CIUSSS-wide photo contest winners announced
Staff throughout the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal gave the network’s first annual photo contest their best shot… or three! The A Shot of Happiness contest called on staff to submit up to three original photos that they felt best represented happiness.
A Shot of Happiness winners
• First prize: Ana Coca, Biomedical Technician
• Second prize: Émilie Fontenay, Administrative Processes Specialist, Innovation team
• Third prize: Glenn J. Nashen, Associate Director, Communications and Media Relations
• Honourable mention: Nikki Kampouris, Pharmacist
• Honourable mention: Barbara Dejon, Sterilization Attendant

“We all have something, be it a place, a person or a memory, that not only inspires us, but brings us happiness,” says Communications Specialist Julie Beauvilliers, who organized the photo contest. “It seems staff were really keen to share their happiness, because we received entries from 42 employees, representing a wide range of specialties from across our network. A few photos captured their sense of fun or joy within their workplace, but most depicted families, including four-legged members, or scenes in nature or from travels.”

The top entries were announced by CIUSSS President and CEO Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg at the CIUSSS Annual General Meeting on November 9. Contest winners received prizes donated by the JGH Foundation.
The 93 photo submissions were turned over to a multidisciplinary jury stripped of all identifying information. The winning entries were selected anonymously by Photographer Felipe Argaez, the Chief of Audio-Visual Services; Béatrice Casimir, Head Nurse at Donald Berman Maimonides; Emmanuela Deloge, a Project Manager on the Innovation team; Maimonides Art Therapist Sondra Goldman; and Julie Liebman, Staff Engagement Outreach Specialist from the Human Resources Department.
“We wanted to spread your happiness, so you’ll find all of the photos on our CIUSSS electronic and social media platforms, including our Intranet, Facebook and Twitter pages,” says Ms. Beauvilliers.
A traveling exhibit showcasing the 93 shots of happiness is also planned. It will tour all of the CIUSSS facilities this winter.
