Congratulations to Dr. Elizabeth MacNamara, who has been appointed Medical Director of Point-of-Care Testing. Dr. MacNamara, a Medical Biochemist, has dedicated over 30 years to the Jewish General Hospital, where she served as Director of Diagnostic Medicine. In that capacity, she oversaw all aspects of laboratory operations and transformed the laboratory into an innovation-driven clinical hub. She also led key initiatives beyond the laboratory, including the implementation of standardized Patient Order Sets, contributing to decreased length of stay and improvements in quality, safety and efficiency of care.
Among her many leadership roles in our network, Dr. MacNamara has served as President of the our CIUSSS’s Council of Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists, and taught across all levels within the Department of Medicine. Her expertise has also been sought on a global scale, as she has spearheaded multiple laboratory-based initiatives in Gansu, China.
