On the occasion of National Volunteer Week, April 27 to May 3, our CIUSSS’s Volunteer Department team saluted the nearly 1,500 volunteers across our network whose companionship, comfort and guidance add a human touch to the care our healthcare and social-service teams provide to users each and every day.
Did you know that volunteers:
- represent more than 11 per cent of the total number of our employees
- take part in activities across more than 100 departments in our network, including 90 volunteers in the JGH ED alone
- contributed more than 40,000 hours last year, the equivalent to 25 full-time employees
The Volunteer Department team invites all staff to give their heartfelt thanks to the many individuals who dedicate their time to making a difference.
