For the fourth consecutive year, the JGH Birthing Centre has been the busiest on the Island of Montreal, with the medical and nursing team performing 3,536 births.

This figure is especially significant in light of the unit’s Level 3 designation, providing specialized care for mothers, full-term and premature babies with complex needs. Head Nurse Senait Meskele attributes the accomplishment to the Birthing Centre multidisciplinary team’s strong communication skills, diligent work ethic and strategic bed-flow management.
