A report by the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) highlights our CIUSSS for its role in providing Indigenous families with vital access to health care and social services.
Geographic isolation and language barriers can make it difficult for members of Indigenous communities to obtain essential resources. The news feature follows the journey of a family with a child with special needs that is supported by the team at Miriam Centre, including Special Education Technician Dario Tilme, as well as the CLSC de Parc-Extension.
With limited services close to home, the family were compelled to relocate hours away from their community of Kitigan Zibi, to benefit from the specialized programs offered through our network.
