Congratulations to Dave Checkland, who has been appointed the CIUSSS’s Director of Information Resources (IT), most recently serving as the department’s Associate Director.
In his new role, Mr. Checkland leads a team of over 110 professionals responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and agility of our network’s IT infrastructure, applications and interfaces, cybersecurity, as well as projects. He will work closely with departments and services throughout the CIUSSS to ensure their evolving IT needs are fulfilled, notably in clinical, quality, biomedical, finance, human resources and digital health fields.
With nearly a quarter century of professional experience in the health sector, Mr. Checkland has filled varied roles both technical and in leadership, during a period of considerable transition and growth for the IT Department. That experience will serve him in developing strategies that take into account the full scope of IT day-to-day operations, as well as a future trajectory of IT in our network that favours efficiency, adaptability and innovation.
Mr. Checkland holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development and Management from Université Laval.
